You do not need to know the books

Foundation: Galactic Frontier is a free sci-fi strategy game from FunPlus, built on Isaac Asimov's Foundation novels and the TV series. It launched worldwide on October 21, 2025, on PC, iOS and Android. If you have never read Asimov, nothing is lost: the setting is a galaxy where an old empire is falling apart, and you arrive at its edge as a trader trying to make a name for yourself. If you know the books, you will recognise the idea of a frontier where knowledge and trade matter as much as warships.

Your ship is your home

Instead of a city, you build a flagship. It is your base, your workshop and the place your crew lives, and you lay out its rooms to decide what it produces. The crew is a mix of robots, bounty hunters and outlaws, each with their own skills. Expanding the flagship is the long-term project that every other activity feeds.

Two kinds of fights

Combat comes in two sizes. On planets, you lead a small squad in top-down shootouts, clearing outposts and protecting your crew. In space, you command fleets in large real-time battles, where formations and ship types matter more than reflexes. The ships were designed with artists who worked on series such as Fallout, Stargate and Star Wars, and it shows in the variety of hulls.

Choices and alliances

As a trader you deal with several factions, and the game asks you to decide: cooperate to push back threats from deep space, or chase profit for yourself. Further in, alliances fight over planets and whole star systems. That alliance war is where the late game happens, and like most strategy games of its kind it rewards the players who log in often.

Will it run on your PC?

Easily. The official minimum is a GTX 460 graphics card with 4 GB of RAM on 64-bit Windows 7 or later, and about 8 GB of disk space. It also runs on Mac and phones. Foundation: Galactic Frontier is free on Windows through the official client.
