Arknights: Endfield: what to know before your first hour
The squad, the factory and the free pulls, explained in five minutes so your start on Talos-II goes smoothly.

Two games share one download
Endfield looks like an action RPG for the first twenty minutes, and it is one: you control a squad of four in real time on Talos-II, a frontier planet still being settled. Then the base opens up, and a second game appears. You lay out machines, connect production lines and automate the materials you would otherwise farm by hand. Knowing that early changes how you play the opening hours.

Your squad: swap, chain, react
Fights reward switching more than mashing. Each operator brings skills tied to an element, and stacking heat, cryo, electric or nature on the same enemy triggers reactions. A balanced squad of four, with a healer, beats four damage dealers for most of the story.
- The Endministrator: your own character, a sword user who seals enemies in crystal before breaking them.
- Ardelia: a healer who also makes enemies take more damage, free through the beginner event.
- Perlica: a ranged caster who electrifies groups and sets up the rest of the team.

Where you start, and where it goes
The story opens in Valley IV, an industrial frontier around The Hub, Valley Pass and the Originium Science Park. Later, the misty islands of Wuling and the denser Wuling City take over. Exploring is part of the economy: you read the terrain for resources and decide where the next production line should go.
The free pulls, without the fine print
Endfield is a gacha game, so it helps to know the rules before spending anything. The beginner banner guarantees a 6★ operator within 40 pulls, paid for with permits you earn by playing. On limited banners a 6★ is guaranteed by pull 80, with a 50/50 between the featured operator and a standard one, and every 10 pulls gives at least a 5★. There is no PvP, so spending never lets anyone beat you.
Will it run on your PC?
A mid-range PC from the last five years is enough. The official minimum is a GTX 1060 with an Intel Core i5-9400F and 16 GB of RAM; an RTX 2060 is recommended for high settings. Plan for about 50 GB on an SSD, plus roughly 40 GB of temporary space while it installs.
If you like to plan as much as you fight, Endfield is worth that space. It is free on PC through Steam or the official launcher.
